A Little Space

There is a kind of travel that treats distance as the thing to be conquered. We began this way too, even in plans for a single day. With itineraries and checklists, endless to-do’s soak up our time the way a sponge inhales water.

Our most precious commodity, trapped.

There are countless writers out there that advise it’s not about the destination but the journey. That rest has purpose. When raising children the days are long but the years are short. That worth isn’t tied to accomplishments.

You already know these things.

It is not for lack of knowledge that we are unable to slow down, enjoy, notice, reflect. We each have our reasons, I know I do. Some barriers can be worked through, and some are more difficult.

I just want to remind you to make a little bit of space. Let in tiny sliver of grace. Know that a pause is not a disconnect, 5 deep breaths can be a lifeline, and nurturing your self is not selfish.
